About Andrew Wheeler
Andrew Wheeler is a founding partner of Eagle Mill Consulting LLC. He served as the 15th Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on February 28, 2019 having previously served as the Acting Administrator and the Senate confirmed Deputy Administrator.
Under his leadership the Agency conclusively proved that they could reduce regulatory burdens while improving all environmental indicators across the board. Andrew oversaw a doubling of Superfund site cleanups, seven percent reduction in air pollution, significant reductions in greenhouse gases, and the first update to the Lead and Copper regulations in drinking water infrastructure in over thirty years.
He has testified before Congress in budget and oversight hearings and is a seasoned public speaker including press conferences, television interviews (ABC, Fox, CBS, Telemundo, Fox Business, and many local affiliates) podcasts, and radio interviews.
Prior to his service at the EPA, Andrew was a consultant and of counsel at Faegre, Baker Daniels law firm. He was the team leader of the energy and environment consulting practice team and cochair of the firm-wide Energy and Natural Resources industry team. During his nine years with the firm he worked on behalf of more than twenty-five clients including companies, trade associations, governmental entities and nonprofits.
Andrew also spent fourteen years working in the United States Senate including six years as the Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, six years as the Clean Air, Climate Change, and Nuclear Safety Subcommittee Staff Director and two years as General Counsel to Senator Jim Inhofe.
Andrew graduated with a BA from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from George Mason University and a JD from Washington University in St. Louis after which he started as a career employee at the EPA in the Toxics Office, where he was awarded three bronze medals.
